Travel Alerts

The summer is almost here and many Americans will be going on vacation. Many of us will be traveling to foreign countries if you are planning to travel to a country that you are not familiar with you can check with the State Department to see if there are any travel alerts for your destination.

What is a travel alert? A travel alert is a warning put out by the State Department it is issued for a short term it is to advise you about conditions you should know about when planning your travel to certain countries. A travel alert could be issued to warn you about a health alert or political unrest such as riots or demonstrations or a terrorist attack. When the thread is over the State Department will lift the travel alert. So before planning your summer travels outside the United States be sure to check with the State Department and make sure no travel alerts or warnings had been issued for the country you are planning to vacation in.
