If you are coming from Asian countries and the Middle East you will need a visa. There are different types of visas you can apply for the most common is a tourist visa , which will allow you to remain in the United States for up to six months. There are student visas and business visas . They require additional information as to what you will be doing in the United States a means of support while here and a residence address. You can go online to the State Department website and they will explain what requirements you will need for each type of visa.

State Department Travel Warnings
The US State Department usually issues travel warnings for certain countries that are in turmoil and when the American citizens are at risk.
Travel warnings are issued when a country has conditions that are dangerous or the government is unstable. This will prompt the State Department to recommend that Americans should avoid traveling to that particular country. If you are unsure of the peace and order of the country you wished to visit, you may check with the State Department website for the list of countries which they have issued travel warnings.
The State Department offers a range of security seminars which are designed to meet the needs of US government employees together with their family members as well as private organizations. The seminars are designed to raise the awareness of those traveling overseas by helping them to identify certain risk for they are vulnerable to terrorist or criminals.
Some people ignore the warnings and that could be a foolish mistake.

Visitor Visa for the USA
When you are applying a visitor visa to the United States. You must demonstrate that this visa is for a short period of time. Immigration officials view visa applications as a intending immigrant. That is why you must demonstrate that you are for real.
There are certain ways that you could prove you will only be in the country for approximately 90 days or six months. On your application state clearly the purpose of your trip such as for business, pleasure , or medical treatment. Have evidence of funds to cover all costs while you are in the country.
