The Court Reporting

I remember a local TV show in the Philippines, entitled “Case Unclosed” which is usually aired every Thursday. The TV Show features some of the sensational cases in the Philippines that is up until now is not yet solved by the authorities. The major reason was due to lack of evidence, witnesses and many others. I like the show because it brings me back to where and when the case happened and how did it happened.

While watching the show, I couldn’t help but think about the hardworking men behind it. The show was very informative. Probably they hired some individuals through court reporting services because all of the information in the show was all very detailed. They have accurately reported the time, date, place and they even provide visuals and re-enactment to make the case understandable and interesting to the viewers. Other legal terms were explained to suit to audience understanding.

Thinking about those cases that are still unclosed up until now, I think our country needs more able men to solve these. Aside from reliable court reporting services, I think our country needs able men who will stand up for what is right and true, who will not be bribe with money, and most of all who has the love for God and his country.

Separation agreements

What is a separation agreement and why is it necessary? A separation agreement is a contract signed by both parties who are married but do not wish to live with each other. In some states you must have lived apart from each other for a certain amount of time before a divorce can be granted in most cases it would be approximately 6 months.

Actually a separation agreement can be helpful in planning your divorce. It will cover such items as what party will be entitled to certain properties acquired in the marriage.

It also will determine what the parties debts will be paid such as credit card bills and car payments. It could also determine what party will retain custody of a minor child. It may also cover what rights are wavered on each other's estates. The separation agreement is similar to a divorce settlement. It can also be a helpful tool to stop harassment of either party.

Before you enter into an agreement in a separation contract make sure you understand all your legal rights. If you can work out all your disagreements with a separation agreement before the divorce you will come out ahead both financially and emotionally.

Small claims Court

Just some brief information on small claims court here in Florida. Some of my readers have asked me for information about the small claims court.

Question: What is the dollar limit that can be claimed in small claims court? In Florida the dollar limit is set at $5000.

Question: Where to sue? You must sue where the defendant resides or where the injury occurred or where a contract was broken.

Question: Who will serve the necessary papers? A police officer, a court appointed adult, or by certified mail with return receipt.

Question: When will be a trial date? In most cases within 60 days after a pretrial conference.

The Trial

The trial of Casey Anthony today was very sad and gruesome. The forensic team from the Orange County Sheriff's Department was testifying about the condition of the little girls body. They were testifying about the duct tape around the little girls skull. I thought there was only about three pieces of tape over her face but they showed a photo of the tape and it was much more.This segment of the trial seemed to have quite an effect on the jury as two women were almost in tears. Casey Anthony was crying quite a bit also. I noticed she could not look at the photos she sat with her head down and never looked up. At one time I also noted she was shaking and quite pale her attorney was trying to console her throughout the trial.We were not allowed to see the complete photo of the child the judge had ordered the gruesome parts to be blurred out. However the jury did see the complete photo and I think it had a profound effect on them. It also had a profound effect on Casey as the trial had to be stopped at 3:30 PM because she to was sick to continue. She was led out of the courtroom looking quite pale and visibly shaken up. The question is will she be well enough to attend her trial tomorrow?
