Insulated Concrete Forms

I always prefer concrete houses for they are made to last longer and safer in a storm especially during hurricane season. The exterior walls of a concrete home are more durable than the engineered wood frame home construction. Our home is made of concrete and it does have a superior sound proofing in fact, I can't tell if it is raining outside unless if I look out thru the window. Not only that, concrete homes are fireproof and moisture resistant.

Termites are a hassle to homeowners and it can drain the bank. Concrete homes have better protection from termite invasion. Some experience builders prefer wood frame homes for they are energy efficient since they have deep wall cavities for any kind of insulation. With the ICF Building Systems, concrete homes deliver high performance structures as well as energy efficient green building and it's all because of Durisol ICF. ICF is cement bonded wood fiber and it is environmentally energy efficient because it is 100% recycled, safer and structurally secure.

For all those reasons, I rest my home preference. If you are curious about Durisol then, you should visit the Website to see the homes and buildings which are made of Insulated Concrete Forms. I tell you right now that they all look gorgeous. Check it out yourself.

Basement Developers in Calgary

I don't remember living in a house with a basement. When I was growing up, my friends and I would categorize basements as creepy and dark so; anything negative can happen in it. Well, gone are those days of basement horror and neglect! We are in the generation of innovation where home design does not end in the bedroom, bathroom or living room.

I have seen home designers on TV who were working on a project that provides the curb appeal of the home as well as building an enchanting backyard to the lucky recipient. The work was hard but I think, renovating the basement is the hardest.

If you have an ancestral house and you wanted to splurge your basement; more issues are likely to arise such as spending more on electrical, plumbing, heating as well as the foundation of the house. If you plan a basement DIY project, I suggest that you should think twice.

You should hire a professional who are expert, knowledgeable and bonded. Make sure that they are building code compliant and they listen to the client's need.

Gazebo and Patio Project

We bought a new gazebo last week and my wife, who is more inclined to assemble such complicated parts of a gazebo finished it in an hour and a half. I admit, I am not a handy man but, she is. I was with her the whole time holding the post and she commended that I was a good assistant. It boosts my ego and in all honesty, we put it up together successfully. After we were done, we look at the gazebo and we both agreed that there's something lacking in it. We need to build patio flooring's in it. The net on four sides would be useless with the grass because the bugs are hiding underneath the grasses.

We wanted to hire a pro but, they gave us a ridiculous price for a 12x12 patio flooring job. The solution was, we did a DIY project and so far, we are almost done. My wife told me that she will find ways on how to accessorize our gazebo area. I have a friend who was joking to give me his worn out patio chair and table. I was considering the offer but there was no one here that I can hire to do the patio chair repair.

I could have saved a lot if we have Patio Guys in the area. I learn that this company has highly trained team for patio furniture refinishing. They are expert in fixing badly damage furniture. They can refinish patio furniture which is worn out and faded. If customers hire them to do something with a mis-matched patio furniture, Patio Guys can deliver the good result. They will refinish each item to look like a new one. They use all types of colors which the customer prefers to have in their patio. If the customers have certain preference of the fabric and materials, Patio Guys will deliver.

It will be a custom design according to the customer's standard of preference. After all, customer satisfaction is their number one priority. As for our patio project, we are almost done and I can't wait to use our gazebo in the evening.

State Department Travel Warnings

The US State Department usually issues travel warnings for certain countries that are in turmoil and when the American citizens are at risk.

Travel warnings are issued when a country has conditions that are dangerous or the government is unstable. This will prompt the State Department to recommend that Americans should avoid traveling to that particular country. If you are unsure of the peace and order of the country you wished to visit, you may check with the State Department website for the list of countries which they have issued travel warnings.

The State Department offers a range of security seminars which are designed to meet the needs of US government employees together with their family members as well as private organizations. The seminars are designed to raise the awareness of those traveling overseas by helping them to identify certain risk for they are vulnerable to terrorist or criminals.

Some people ignore the warnings and that could be a foolish mistake.

Bank Statement

When your bank statement arrives in the mail, it is very important that you go over it with a fine tooth comb.

I checked my bank statement daily through my online banking but, when my statement arrived in the mail the other day, I went through it and to my surprise, I was being charged $18 a month for having a checking account.

I immediately call and informed the bank. At this point I was ready to close my account and look for a bank with free checking. The bank employee told me that they would enroll me in a free checking account and refund my $18 so; I maintain the account with them.

You must check your account constantly to make sure you are not being overcharged for services and prevent unfavorable charges.

Debt Collectors Harassing Phone Calls

If you have ever been called by a debt collector on the phone you know, they are the most rude and arrogant people on the planet.

Recently, it has been reported that there is a scam going on where a debt collector will call you on the phone and threaten you with all types of legal action if you do not send them money. Number one, you never give any payment over the phone to a debt collector as they will clean out your bank account. If they threatened you to jail time, this is not true as there is no one put in prison in the United States just because of debt.

When you encounter one of these people on the phone simply tell them to send you a letter outlining your debt. Never give them your bank account number or Social Security number over the phone.

Another trick you can use when they say you are being recorded tell them just a minute while you turn your recorder on also and many times they will hang up immediately.

Bill collectors can call you between the hours of eight o'clock in the morning to five o'clock in the evening Monday through Saturday. They may not call you at your place of work if you request them not to. If you feel you being unduly harassed, there are state agencies you can report the abuse. When you owe money, you pay it but, they can't threatened you because you are unable to pay at certain time. YOU HAVE RIGHTS you know.

The Executor or Executrix

If you have made a will and appointed a representative to carry out your last wishes they are called an executor for male and an executrix for female.

If you have not appointed a representative in your will, the person delegated the responsibility will be called an administrator. When appointing an executor, make sure that you trust the person as they will be carrying out your last will and testament.

The executor will make decisions in the best interest of your estate. As there is a lot of paper work and administrative duties connected to this responsibility, the executor may be paid a fee for handling your last request.

You should choose someone who is organized and accustomed to dealing with a lot of paper work such as death certificate, insurance policies and bank accounts. Before selecting someone for this responsibility, make a wise judgement.

Extended Warranty

Extended warranties is it a good idea to purchase an extended warranty when buying appliances, or an automobile? The choice is really up to you but I will point out some disadvantages of the extended warranty.

You should read carefully the terms of the warranty and what it covers , and how long most products will not break down or have problems in the first year or so make sure your extended warranty covers the period when wear and tear on the product truly takes effect. Be sure to check how much the deductible you will have to pay before the warranty goes into effect, you must read the contract carefully. There may be exceptions to the repair or replacement provided. There could be certain parts that are not covered under the warranty that could be expensive. There could be situations in which the warranty is void such as dropping the product or water damage . If you are dealing with electronics. Be sure to check the terms of how many times you can use the extended warranty. There could be limitations. Do your research before signing on the dotted line for an extended warranty . This could save you a lot of stress and grief.
