Bank Statement

When your bank statement arrives in the mail, it is very important that you go over it with a fine tooth comb.

I checked my bank statement daily through my online banking but, when my statement arrived in the mail the other day, I went through it and to my surprise, I was being charged $18 a month for having a checking account.

I immediately call and informed the bank. At this point I was ready to close my account and look for a bank with free checking. The bank employee told me that they would enroll me in a free checking account and refund my $18 so; I maintain the account with them.

You must check your account constantly to make sure you are not being overcharged for services and prevent unfavorable charges.
