State Department Travel Warnings

The US State Department usually issues travel warnings for certain countries that are in turmoil and when the American citizens are at risk.

Travel warnings are issued when a country has conditions that are dangerous or the government is unstable. This will prompt the State Department to recommend that Americans should avoid traveling to that particular country. If you are unsure of the peace and order of the country you wished to visit, you may check with the State Department website for the list of countries which they have issued travel warnings.

The State Department offers a range of security seminars which are designed to meet the needs of US government employees together with their family members as well as private organizations. The seminars are designed to raise the awareness of those traveling overseas by helping them to identify certain risk for they are vulnerable to terrorist or criminals.

Some people ignore the warnings and that could be a foolish mistake.
