Citizenship and Integration Grant Opportunity

Last April, the USCIS announced the availability of the Citizenship and Integration Grant Program. This is a competitive grant opportunity of which promotes immigrant civic integration. It also prepares permanent residents for citizenship.

This type of program will provide almost $10 million in funding and that is for citizenship preparation programs in communities all over the country. If your organization is interested, you must meet the deadline. All applications are due by May 22, 2013.

The USCIS is expanding the availability of high-quality citizenship preparation services. The organizations selected to receive the funding will be the one to offer both citizenship instruction and naturalization application services to all permanent residents.

Come September 2013, the USCIS is expected to announce about 40 award recipients. If your organization is interested to apply for this funding opportunity, you should check out www.grants.gov.

You should obtain registration information which is needed to complete the application process. You can also visit www.uscis.gov/grants for more information about the Citizenship and Integration Grant Program. You can also email them at citizenshipgrantprogram@uscis.dhs.gov.

Good luck to all the lucky organizations!
