Baby Registry

After five years of trying, my husband and I are expecting our first baby. We are both very excited. It feels like it is not real yet because it is still very early. We are almost at the three month mark where it is supposed to be safe to tell everyone. But last night I could not wait any more and broke down and told my parents on the phone. I hated to tell them on the phone, but ever since we moved to Las Vegas three years ago, I am not able to see them in person as much as I want. Of course, then we had to call my husband’s family and then everyone got to talking to everyone else, and before we knew what happened everyone we knew was calling to congratulate us. So now, I am on North Las Vegas wireless internet, registering at three different places on their baby registry. At least all our family and friends can see what type of presents we would like for the baby and still feel a part of everything even though we live so far away. I cannot wait until we get to back home for a visit. My mom says she is going to plan a baby shower for the week we are home.

Boom weekend for Orlando

Orlando is having boom week and also weekend. The football game between Notre Dame and Florida state was a sellout with over to 68,000 people in attendance. The Magic basketball game also added 20,000 people in the downtown area on Thursday. You can imagine the nightmare trying to find a parking spot.

It was reported on the local news that the hotel where 95% full with all these people in town for the bowl game along with your regular tourist season. Universal Studios and Disney World temporarily close their gates for a short period as the parks were overcrowded it was reported there were three hour waits to get on some rides.

This coming weekend the scene will be repeated as the Capital One Bowl will be in town and is completely sold out another boom for the downtown area which surely could use it. So if you are planning to be out and about this weekend and next be sure to plan your trips around town as in some areas there will be a lot of traffic.

It may be an inconvenience for some people with all the football fans and tourist flooding into Orlando but I'm sure it is a welcome sight for all the businesspeople and the economy this season. Most of the fans here for the games spend at least between two and $3000 on hotel rooms flights and restaurants this will be a boost for our local economy. It is estimated that the local economy will benefit by the tune of $80 million on the events so I say congratulations to Orlando and a happy new year to all.

Eviction

Some people think that when they are being evicted, from an apartment that it is no big deal this could not be further from the truth.

There are many consequences a person can face as a result of a legal eviction. Many people do not understand the ramifications of what it means to be the subject of an eviction.

You will be brought into eviction court this can be a very humiliating experience and also will be a matter of public record permanently. You can be forcibly remove from your apartment which is also another humiliating experience and again is part of a permanent record made public.

If a judgment is rendered against you you will be liable for the debt tell it is paid. This could also affect your credit standing. If you fail to pay they could possibly be a seizure of your assets including bank accounts and garnishments of your wages. Credit rating bureaus will be notified and again this could affect your credit card ,car loans, and even a mortgage in the future.

This also may cause an inability to qualify for renting a new place as you will be reported to the national tenant reporting services. This will severely hurt your chances of obtaining a decent place to live as most rentals require credit and tenant screening.

So if you are behind in your rent try to work with your landlord to solve the problem before eviction is the last option.

Last Will and Testament

What is a last will and testament? This is a legal document by which a person can transfer their property to the people of their choice after their death.

Do I need a lawyer to draft my last will and testament? The answer to this is no you only have to be of legal age of sound mind. If you have made a will previous to your last one you must reject it in the document. You must declare that you are making this will free and willingly. After making your will you should sign it in the the presents of at least two witnesses and it should be notarized by Notary Public. You have reached a point in your life that you have decided to take early retirement. I am sure you will be bombarded with many invitations to retirement seminars. You will be offered many types of plans that may appeal to you. But you must use the guideline if it's too good to be true it probably is. Many of these seminars are designed by con men to relieve you of your money.

Here are a few tips that will help you avoid the pitfalls of a fraudulent or misleading retirement plan. First you must face a fact that many people are not eligible or financially able to retire early.

In many of these plans they will tell you you must act now or the opportunity will be gone if you feel like you are being pressured or rushed into some kind of deal the best thing to do is just walk away.

Many of these plans will promise you a high percentage of returns for example 12 or 13%. Most of this information is greatly exaggerated. If you are investing in the stock market about the highest rate of return you can inspect is five or 6%. You must remember the stock market is a highly volatile place with its ups and downs nobody can really guarantee you a high return.

The scammers will tell you you can withdraw at least 8% of more a year and never deplete your money this is totally inaccurate. Many experts say you should expect to withdraw 2-5 percent per year during the first years of your retirement.

If you are contacted by phone never give out any bank information Social Security number or any pertinent personal information this is a good way to have your identity stolen.

Before entering any transactions with one of the so call retirement specialist you should make sure they are licensed and bonded by the state you live in. Never deal with a person on a personal level it should always be through a company that is also registered in your state.

If you do feel like you are being scammed or suspect some kind of fraud you can file a complaint with the state officials such as the attorney general's office or state security regulators. So keep your eyes open and be aware there are many scammers out there with these unbelievable plans that are generally fraudulent and not true. Always deal with a company that is licensed and bonded in your state. Be sure to check out their credentials and see if they're registered with the Better Business Bureau.

Authorization for child travel

In these modern times a parent has to be very careful when a child is traveling with one of them or another family member.

With many children being involved in custody disputes an a rising number of missing children taken by someone on who is not their parent. It is important if your child is traveling with only one parent or just a family member there should be a form with them called authorization for child to travel. If the child is only traveling with one parents the other parent will need to sign this form the same applies if the child is traveling with a family member both parents will have to sign. Without this form if you are traveling internationally you may be delayed entering another country at the border. Smartphones Hacker Target

Smartphones are becoming as much a fixture of the business world as a fax machine. They are replacing many of the traditional devices.

Unfortunately this means they are rapidly becoming the new target for criminals. Security companies have recently reported they have found malware and spyware on about 10% of mobile devices that were scanned in the month of May in 2010. This was double the amount found just five months earlier. With the number of smart phones on an increase the number is surely to increase.

You are probably now asking yourself how can I protect my smart phone? You should get an antivirus scanner and use it regularly on your phone. You should also be careful about downloading questionable apps. The sale of smart phones is on the rise and more than 500 million are inspected to be sold in 2011.
