Amanda Knox is a free woman now. An Italian court overturned a guilty conviction on appeal for murder. She was freed from prison hours after the court found her not guilty. She has been reunited with her family and is on her way to Rome where she will leave for the United States as soon as possible.
The Italian court acquitted her on all charges but one which was implicating her former boss in the murder. He was eventually found innocent after serving some time in jail. She was fined €22,000 and sentenced to time served three years which made her eligible to leave Italy a free person.
While waiting for the verdict seated at the table with her lawyers she looked very pale and at times was sobbing and to be consoled by one of the female lawyers. When the decision was read she was escorted immediately out of the courtroom by the police guard it looked at times like they had to hold her up and she was sobbing and could hardly walk.
